Joe Arellano is a public relations expert and Democratic political strategist with over 20 years of experience managing crisis communications and high-stakes media relations for candidates, elected officials, ballot measures, professional sports teams, tech companies, and housing developers.
He is the owner and principal of Joe Arellano Communications, a public relations agency specializing in media relations, crisis communications, and public affairs.
Arellano has served as an advisor and spokesman for two San Francisco mayors, Gavin Newsom and London Breed.
From 2010-2022, Arellano served four San Francisco mayors as president and commissioner of the City’s Juvenile Probation Commission. Previously, Arellano was the vice president of communications for the Bay Area Council and he worked in communications roles for Congresswoman Jackie Speier and former U.S. Senator Mark Udall.
Arellano received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Arellano currently resides in San Francisco with his wife and son.
